The Mountains of Juda

So then, in this one we will look closer into mountains, more specifically see some images of the Mountains of the lands of the Tribe of Juda. So, let us ask some more questions. In regards to the Judaean mountains, where were they? Now to find the areas of some of these mountains, we also have to consider the Judaea desert, a landmark that was central in the descriptions of Juda. Now the countries of Namibia and Botswana, including South Africa, all have mountains and deserts. Therefore we believe that in these photos we have included below, at least one of them, or even all, stands as remnants of ancient Biblical landmarks. Now as we say some of these suggestions may be wrong, but the research must come out now, and we choose to publish our findings now, rather than later. So Within these areas, bordering between three modern countries (Namibia, Botswana and South Africa), we find believe we can find Juda. And within Juda we can find many other other locations such as Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Hebron, and mountains such as Sinai and Hebron. Enjoy !

Brandberg Mountain - is this Mount Sinai?

We have written articles on this, and we still think this mountain is one of the better candidates for being the Mountain where SoNiNi Himself came down and burnt the mountain by His very presence. This mountain, called Brandberg and Køningstein or even Kings Stone, is burnt as we can see from its black and ashy appearance it has even to this day. This is not seen in this photo, but rest assured the mountain is scorched. You can go to this article at https://www.whispersinear.com/single-post/is-mount-sinai-in-arabia for more.

Table Top Mountains of Damaraland in Namibia

Now there are many Mountains like this, particularly in Damaraland, but also in and around in South Africa. We have them in KZN, Eastern, Western and Northern Cape. And they look like this, intrusive and, out of nowhere they appear. And they bear the same resemblance of being a flat table. So we think these would have had names from old times like Mount Gilead, Mount Carmel, Mount of Olives, Mount Zion, Mount Tabor, Mount Nebo, Mount Moriah and Mount Gerizim. These are but the most important ones. There are many many others. And they all need to be accounted for.

The Erongo Mountain Range in Namibia

Now the Judaean mountains were a range that ran North to South in direction. Also in the vicinity would be the Samaria Hills (in the North) and then the Judaean Mountains in the South. Now, if we deduce further from Scripture, we can see that Judah's end so to speak, was the southern Mountain ranges of Beersheba, and in the north was the Negev, which will not make a lick of sense when put on the map. However, in this Mountain Ranged country, you will find Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Hebron (Hebron Hills). Now these areas would have been full of forests back in the day, which there are very few of now. A few areas are left untouched, but you can clearly see that SoNiNi has indeed withdrawn his presence from there.

Now if we read our Scriptures, we can see that David fled into the Judaean Desert to hide from then King Saul. Samuels recalls several locations in the Judaean Desert that David stopped at when he ran from Saul. Places like Wilderness of Ziph, Wilderness of Ma`on, places or Crags of Wild Goats (if indeed this is not describing Savannah and migrating animals, and the Wilderness of Ein Gedi or En-Gedi

Now the last mentioned area, En-Gedi is described in Samuel in the same setting as King Saul goes to take a leak, David sneaks up on him (I Samuel 24,2):

1 After Saul returned from pursuing the Philistines, he was told, “David is in the Desert of En Gedi.” 2 So Saul took three thousand able young men from all Israel and set out to look for David and his men near the Crags of the Wild Goats. He came to the sheep pens along the way; a cave was there, and Saul went in to relieve himself. David and his men were far back in the cave. The men said, “This is the day the Lord spoke of when he said[b] to you, ‘I will give your enemy into your hands for you to deal with as you wish.’” Then David crept up unnoticed and cut off a corner of Saul’s robe.

So we can see the interchangeable use of Desert and Wilderness here. Now this could be describing areas not necessarily desert (meaning dry and arid, but full of wildlife) so more like fynbos areas in the Karoo or the great plains in Botswana and Namibia, but also many other African countries. Perhaps our Scriptures are calling these places deserted for people.

Now we believe if archeological discoveries were to be made in the Judaean Desert (Kalahari and Nambid areas) one would find traces of old fortresses, from Hasmonean and the times of Herod. These were often constructed on mountain tops or on mountain ranges. Places like Mount of Temptation, Masada and also Hyrcania or Horcania. The latter was likely constructed by King and High Priest John Hyrcanus or his son Alexander Jannaeus. If we look in the mud and soil today, in the Judaean desert we should be able to find a monastery called Kastellion, which was built on the ruins of Horcania.

Also in the desert of Juda one would find the Herodium, a royal complex of Herod. Two other likely ruins would be Alexandrium and Machaerus, strongholds in the lands of Juda, but were closer to Samaria and Pella, which means these two would be out of the desert.

Now it would have been in these desert areas, of Juda, that we find what is the inheritance of the Early Church fathers, or what we know and call Christian Monasticism. The Desert Fathers (remember all the councils that came, the early church fathers attended these), we all can read about this in ancient Christian history, and in these areas is where they collected most of their writings. The Inspired writings are the ones we have the most interest in. We can make a small (but not exhaustive) list of these Hermits and other celibate munks, and remember some of these, worshipped as icons in orthodox churches, may be on the wrong side of history, meaning followers of the Roman Catholic Gospel and not the one Immanuel talked and preached.

So Judaean desert dwellers include people like:

  • Hilarion the Great who was sad to be from Gaza (Mozambique), born in Tabatha, studied in ancient Alexandria. Lived in the Judaean desert, highly venerated by Eastern and Western churches. Clear ties to Jerome (Latin Vulgate) and Chariton the Confessor.

  • Euthymius the Great founded several monasteries in the Judaean Desert, although based on Egyptian (Coptic) monasticism

  • Jerome is best known for translating the Bible to Latin (Vulgate) with commentaries, based on the ancient Hebrew Scriptures. He wrote extensively and was said to have Stayed in the Desert of Chalics.

  • Rufinus of Aquileia who translated much of Origens works, was a friend of Jerome and in terms of years after Christ, these men were getting close to the great divide in faith. Where some men went in another direction.

  • Melania the Elder & Melani the Younger now when it comes to the times of the later individuals of the Church fathers, things start getting Catholic. And if you read our exhaustive articles on the trinity (6 parts!) you will see what we are talking about. A pure and simple faith, turned into Babylonian myths. Both of these women had already strong ties to Rome and Constantine. Nonetheless, they did frequent the Promised Land BEFORE it was moved from the continent, this was most likely by unknowing Arab and Muslim historians. But that is another article looming.

We could mention many more here, but these names such as Mary from Egypt, Gerasimus of the Jordan, Theodosius the Cenobiarch, Sabbas the Sanctified, Cyriacus the Anchorite, Cyril of Scythopolis and John Moschus. Most if not all of them, bring with them later Catholic messages, and frankly, they are (most of them) saints and icons well-ranked in Roman Catholicism and people/saints Catholics actively pray to. Kinda like praying to ancestors. We do not condone this at all. We pray to SoNiNi, and not to man. Still, these people are central to understanding more about the ancient past and, what really went down, and how badly things got, for all of these people and events to be eradicated history, from African soil. One can only imagine.

Damara Mountain Range in Namibia

These mountains, also on Namibia soil as we believe Judah would have been parts of Namibia, are called Naukluft Mountains or Damara Mountain Range. Not far from here is the Namib Desert, which we believe was/is the Judaean Wilderness or Wilderness of Juda. Now the desert was supposed to lie East of Jerusalem, which it does if we use the Jerusalem on the Jordan close to Pella. This desert stretched from Negev to the east of Beit El, and ending in a steep place dropping down to the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley itself.

Omatako or, as the Herero say, `Buttocks Mountains`

These two little peaks protrude literally out of nowhere in the Otjozondjupa Region, not far from Okahandja. In Herero this mountain means Buttocks or Bum - Omatako. Buttocks Mountain. As we can see by the oil painting, by Helmut Lewin (1899-1963) in the image, it does look like a pair of buttocks or even a pair of breasts. Now with these descriptions in mind, we cannot think of another more fitting description than the one given of Mount Tabor. Described as being a dome-like mountain from the plain of Jezreel, also in ancient sources described as breast-shaped or even hump-backed, among its other supernatural qualities. This mountain may be the one talked about in Matthew 17,1-9, Mark 9,2-8 and Luke 9,28-36, although Tabor is not directly mentioned in the New Testament Scriptures. Tabour was to be in the Lower Galilee, not far from Nazareth and Jerusalem.

A Famous Mountain in The Judaean Desert

So then, this one, is a very dramatic mountain as its German name, not the original, means pointed dome in the German name of Spitzkop, is this mountain is sometimes called the Matterhorn of Namibia. This mountain is in the Namib Desert, which we believe is the Judaean Desert. The Range next to the peak is called the Pontok Mountains, and are very good candidates of Biblical locations and mountains. Too climb the Granite mountain peak itself, is apparently very difficult and its early climbers had lots of problems. Almost as if the Peak wants to be left alone. This could also be Mount Tabor or even, another more crucial mountain. We won't speculate here, but this is a Biblical location.

Tsaris Mountains close to Bethel?

Now the Tsaris Mountains are a rather small Mountain Range not far from Marienthal. This area is often visited by geology students, palaeontologist and archeologists alike on account of the many interesting features in the area. Its just full of things that captivate the scientific minds. The dunes at Soussusvlei and Naukluft Mountains are not far. Now these mountains are also close to a good candidate for being Bethel of Scripture, so close are they that these could be the peaks where Jacob Journeyed too.

Vingerklip or Rock Finger in Namibia

Not really hard to tie this one in as being a central landmark, called Rock Finger in Afrikaans, this monument also reminds of the Mukorob, called Finger of God, which has kinda taken over after the Finger collapsed. We believe both are Biblical Locations. If you look at the image, its not hard to see the People stopping here, coming from Egypt, staying in these deserted and wilderness areas. Before moving on towards Mount Nebo in the lands of Moab to the East.

Mukorob or Finger of God in Namibia

Now The Mukorob was near Asab in Namibia, it collapsed in 1988. Before its collapse, it was known for years by the Nama people and inspired many tales and legends. The Herero and Nama have been at odds for a long time, and these two Biblical tribes, with wars and many disputes. One note is from Nama tradition, where they had prophecies that the rule and power of the white man would end when this Mukurob collapsed. This has now happened.
